What this site is

EasyDeskTools is a growing set of free, browser-based utilities — word solvers, calculators, converters and file tools. Each one is a single page that does one job properly. There is no dashboard, no onboarding, and no upsell to a paid tier.

The site exists because the alternative is usually worse. Search for something like “unscramble letters” or “mortgage payment calculator” and you tend to land on a page that asks you to accept a dozen tracking vendors, waits on a server round-trip, and buries the answer under three screens of filler. We would rather give you the answer in the first second.

Everything runs on your device

Every tool here is written in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and runs entirely inside your browser. When you type letters into the word solver or enter a loan amount into the mortgage calculator, that data is processed on your computer and never sent to us. We could not read it if we wanted to, because it never arrives.

This has three practical consequences. Results are instant, because there is no network round-trip. The tools keep working if your connection drops after the page has loaded. And there is no database of your inputs sitting on a server somewhere waiting to be breached.

How tools get chosen

A tool earns a place here if it meets three tests: people genuinely search for it, it can be done well without a server, and the existing options are annoying to use. That last test is the one that matters most. There is no point adding a fifth mediocre tip calculator to the internet.

Requests carry real weight in that decision. If you need something that isn’t here yet, send it over — it goes straight onto the list.

How the site is paid for

EasyDeskTools is free to use and is funded by display advertising. Ads are kept out of the working area of each tool: they sit around the content, not on top of it, and they never gate the result behind a countdown or an interstitial.

Advertising partners may use cookies to select ads, which is described in full in our privacy policy. That is separate from — and does not change — the fact that what you type into a tool stays in your browser.
